Confirmation Program

About the Confirmation Program

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in 8th Grade with the immediate preparation taking place during 9th Grade.

During your first year of high school, you will encounter many new things in your life, new friends, new teachers, new schedules and new routines. With all these new things also come new challenges. During this first year of high school, you will also be preparing to receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. I believe that receiving this Sacrament could not come at a better time for you. During the past eight years you have learned about our Catholic faith and experienced God’s love and mercy through the sacraments. It is now your turn to put that love and knowledge of God to use in your daily life.

At the 2013 World Youth Day in Brazil, Pope Francis put forth this challenge:

Jesus is calling you to be a disciple with a mission!
Today, in the light of the word of God that we have heard, what is the Lord saying to us?
Three simple ideas: Go, do not be afraid, and serve.

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation will be different from the Faith Formation classes that you have experienced in the past.  This time of preparation will focus more on helping you to build a relationship with Jesus and helping you to grow into a person of faith who lives and carries the Good News of Christ throughout your life. Through our class times, service opportunities, prayer services and retreat, you will have the chance to develop a lasting relationship with Jesus and allow His joy to be present in your everyday life.
